Import root CA certificate into Java Web Start
M. Gallant 01/09/2001
To import a root CA certificate for
Java Web Start
open the Java Web Start Application Manager, select the
Edit/Preferences menu, open the Root Certificates/Certificate Path
panel and click "Import..." to import a local root certificate file. The selected root
CA certificate will be imported into the
C:\Program Files\Java Web Start\cacerts certificate file.
[Note that
there is another cacerts file at C:\Program Files\Java Web Start\1.3.0\lib\security\cacerts
provided that you installed the JRE along with Java Web Start. If you already have JRE1.3.0 installed
when Java Web Start is installed, there will also be a cacerts file at:
C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3\lib\security\cacerts. These additional cacerts file are NOT updated,
and are used for CA certificate resolution when using the JavaPlugin directly with the browser.]
You will be prompted for a password the first time, and asked to
trust the certificate.
